Display font - Foam

The "Foam" Font project was initiated with the aim of developing a unique display font, utilizing the plastic characteristics of foam as its foundation. The project's idea was centered around creating an original and textured font based on an unconventional material.

Project Objective:
To explore and comprehend the plasticity of foam as a distinctive material for crafting letterforms that translate its characteristics into an individualized font.

Tasks and Stages:

1. Material Exploration:
- Analyzing the physical characteristics of foam, including its texture, flexibility, and volume.
- Identifying key elements of the material that can be visualized in the font.

2. Form Experiments:
- Physically modeling letters using real samples of foam.
- Photographing and documenting various letter variations.

3. Translating Plasticity into Font:
- Developing methods to transform the foam's form into typographic elements.
- Exploring ways to convey the softness, volume, and plasticity of foam through shape and lines.
- Defining common characteristics to create a cohesive font.

4. Font Creation:
- Generating vector elements for each letter based on the analysis of physical models and photographs of the material.

This project is not just about creating a font. It represents a comprehensive exploration and understanding of the material through the language of typography. Each letter becomes an artistic reflection of the properties of foam, resulting in a unique and expressive font.
